Jose Angel “Joe” Zavala Ramos
Age 57 of Burdett, NY, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 1, 2018. Joe was born in Humacao, Puerto Rico, the son of Graciano Zavala and Ramonita Zavala Ramos. After High School, he enlisted in the US Army, became a sergeant, and proudly served his country for 12 years, including deployment to the Persian Gulf. He worked as a Technician in CIT at Cornell University for 21 years. We will fondly remember him for his love of gardening, hunting, fishing, music and playing the congas. Most of all he will be remembered for his love of family and friends.

Joe is lovingly remembered by his family, including his wife Marion Zavala and their four children; Monique (Shane) Frankovic of Miami, FL, Jose A. (Amie) Zavala of Little Rock, Arkansas, Jacqueline Zavala of Ithaca, and Chantalle Zavala of Syracuse. His mother Ramonita Zavala of Hector, brother and sisters, George Zavala of Manhattan, Ana Zavala of Hector, Edda (William) Agosto of Florida, New York; his five grandchildren, Jayleen Zavala, Jason Rogers-Zavala, Asher Joe Zavala, Luka and Chloe Frankovic; and niece and nephew, Addelis and Alexavier Agosto.
