Obituary for Maxine S. Allen

Maxine S.  Allen
Maxine S. Allen, 98, of Lancaster, PA., formerly of Corning, NY, and Painted Post, NY, passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. Maxine, who was predeceased by her husband Dr. John G. Allen, was born on July 5, 1919 in Herkimer, New York. She was the only child of Walter and Ada (Smith) Bellinger. She graduated from Norwich High School in 1937 and from Miami University (Ohio). She and John, after raising their five children in Corning would ultimately retire to New Port Richey, FL where they would spend time playing bridge with their friends. Maxine and John also spent several summers driving across the country in their motor home.
Maxine is survived by her daughter Libby Rattrie (Neil) of Jacksonville, FL, and her four sons Thomas Allen (Silvia), of Oradell, NJ, Michael Allen (Toni), of Riverside, CT, Scott Allen (Joanne) of Fredericksburg, VA, and Mark Allen (Beatrice) of Doylestown, PA. She will be missed by her nine grandchildren; James, Bryan, Andrew, Jonathon, Emily, Danielle, Sean, Kimberly, and Hannah and six great-grandchildren. Maxine was predeceased by her first husband Robert E. Parish (1963). Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen, NY. A graveside service will be held at the Hector Union Cemetery, Rte. 79, Burdett, NY on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 11:00 AM.
