Gertrude Amelia Silvernail
Age 90 formerly of Irelandville and Montour Falls, NY, passed away peacefully at the home of her niece Laura Lee Jowers in Titusville, FL on August 16, 2017 with her husband by her side. Friends and relatives are invited to gather on Wednesday, August 30th from 2-4pm at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St. Watkins Glen; a Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at 4 pm at the funeral home. She is survived by her loving husband, Willis H. Silvernail, and sister, Florence Andrews. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much. Gertrude was born on August 10, 1927 to Vernon E. Ameigh and Virginia Pettengill Ameigh. She loved to tend to her flower gardens and enjoyed singing, whistling and yodeling. She loved children and often donated to various charities for kids. She would also take inner city children into her home in upstate New York for the summers.
