Obituary for Doris L. Karius

Doris L. Karius
Age 82, of Valois, NY, passed away June 5, 2017.
Friends may call Thursday (June 8th) from 5pm-7pm at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen; followed by a funeral service at the funeral home at 7:00pm; Rev. James Yao officiating; burial Friday at Seneca Union Cemetery at 10:00am.
Survived by daughter, Sherry (Jeff) Mangus, Burdett, NY; sons, David (Debbie) Karius of Florida, Donald Karius of Valois, and Scott (Mary) Karius, all of Valois, NY; 2 sisters, Jean (Carl) Carmell of Florida and Marie Clark of South Carolina; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; she was predeceased by her husband, Fred D. Karius in 2001; son, Fred L. Karius in 2015; and sister, Sandy Taylor.
She dedicated her life to her family and community and for over 50 years with her husband on their fruit farm. Doris owned and operated the Doris L. Karius Real Estate company for over 30 years. She also served as a County Legislator for over 20 years. She was a member and served as Treasurer of the Valois-Logan Hector Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and was a member of the Hector Presbyterian Church, Montour Moose, and a Board of Director for the Seneca Union Cemetery Assoc..
