Charles E. ”Pete” Kelly
Age 83, of Rock Stream, NY, passed away April 29, 2017.
He was born Dec. 9, 1933 in Valois, NY, the son of the late Charles and Helen Kelly (Wilson). After attending school in Watkins Glen, he enlisted in the US Airforce, serving in Anchorage, AK and San Antonio, TX. While in the service, he married Beverly (Rumsey) Kelly.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Beverly in 1990; and also predeceased by daughter, Dawn M. (Kelly) Hendrix and grandson, Dana C. Hendrix
He is survived by his wife, Helen Roberts Kelly, of Rock Stream, NY; son, Victor (Mary) Kelly of Trumansburg, step-children, Marlita (Peter) Schreurs, of Canton, NY, and Martin (Peggy) Roberts, of Rock Stream
Seven grandchildren, four step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-great-grandchildren; sister, Adelaide (Fred) Garland; brother, Donald (Priscilla) Kelly, Reynoldsville, NY; son-in-law, Tomi Hendrix of Ovid, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
He retired from Ithaca City School District in 1991. Pete enjoyed touring on his motorcycle with friends in his retirement years.
A graveside service celebrating his life will be held Monday, May 22, 2017 at 11:00am at Highland Cemetery in Catharine, NY; with military honors; Rev. Jeanne Bleiler will officiate.
